Raspberries Straight from the Bush

One of the things I remember fondly from my childhood was the raspberry bush behind our house. I cannot imagine how many I ate straight off the bush. It was a regular part of summer.

I wanted my own children to have that same opportunity, so a few years ago we planted some raspberries and other berries in the back yard. Raspberry bushes take a few years to really get going. Their time, it would seem, has come. Juliet came in the other day with a hearty bowl full of them (and one or two blackberries as well).

I went out again this morning, and there were plenty more again. Looks like it will be a bounteous summer.

A Desperate Man

I keep my hair short. But with the pandemic and social distancing and what not, all of the barbers have been shuttered. What’s a man to do? Desperate times call for desperate measures.

A Gorgeous Day

This past Sunday was an absolutely gorgeous day. We had been cooped up for so long, what with the pandemic and all, so we took advantage of the beautiful weather to take a walk along the Delaware Canal tow path. We saw a lot of geese with their goslings as well as a few turtles. It was great to get out of the house and enjoy the sun and warm weather, and we topped it off with a backyard barbecue of spare ribs and corn. What a great day!
